Round 4 for :iconotakusenshiidols:

OMG, so done. I had grandiose plans for this round, but it totally didn't happen, as you can see. I have about a DOZEN different sketches, some of just Ithel/Yogensha and some with her and Rethan/Madoi, but nothing looked right. This doesn't even look right and I even took the time to overlay my sketch onto the stock image and tweak it several times.

I'm just done. It is what it is now. I'm going to be busy between now and Saturday (my bathroom is not going to finish repairing itself and I promised another friend assistance with her short movie project and I haven't even learned all my lines yet and filming is on Saturday), so this is it.

---

Madoi surfaced in the middle of the pool, tossing a spray of water from her silver locks and looked around for Yogensha. Her leader wasn't much of swimmer, she knew, but she had enticed her to come down to the pool for a little while. Madoi was a creature of action and swimming (or running, or weight lifting, or anything, really) helped her stay focused. A frown crossed her face as she spied Yogensha sitting on the edge of the pool, her legs dangling into the water and her eyes locked on the surface as if she could divine their futures if she stared long enough. Madoi swam over to her with long, powerful strokes and came to rest against the wall, holding on with one hand.

"Aren't you going to get into the water at all?"

Yogensha jumped, as if startled. Her face flushed in embarrassment as her friend chuckled at her expense. Madoi frowned again, however, noting that the skin across her friend's shoulders and back was beginning to turn red.

"No," Yogensha replied, softly. Her mouth quirked into a small frown again. "Sorry, I just don't feel like it..." She trailed off, glancing back to the water.

Madoi slapped the water, sending a spray across Yogensha's legs. "You never feel like doing anything anymore!"

"Sorry."

Madoi stewed for a moment, than hauled herself up out of the pool, angrily. She stormed over to where they had stashed their towels. "And all you do is apologize for everything," she snapped. She grabbed her towel and began rubbing the water out of her hair. After a few moments to gain her composure, she glanced over her shoulder to see Yogensha staring at the water again, her shoulders hunched. Madoi sighed, mentally counted to ten, and felt her anger drain from her. She carefully approached her charge and squatted down. "Hey," she began, reaching out to touch Yogensha's shoulder. "I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. I'm just worried about you."

Yogensha's head bobbed. "I know. I'm sorry I'm not good company."

Madoi shook her head. "You have a lot on your mind, with our mission and all..." She trailed off, unsure of how to continue.

"I know," the white haired girl replied. "It's been so hard and it feels... irresponsible... to be out here, sitting in the sunshine when people are suffering. I can't even do anything to help them."

Madoi bit her lip. There was nothing she could say.

"I mean, we came to Earth to find someone that could help us. I think Sailor Moon could! You saw how she was able to purge the plague from those students. If only we could get close enough to talk to her...!" Madoi saw Yogensha's hands close into fists of frustration; frustration that was all too familiar.

"Those two... Uranus and Neptune... they won't ever let us get near her," Madoi agreed, a hint of heat to her voice. "They're aggravating."

A small choked noise from Yogensha made Madoi eyes snap up to her face. She was surprised to see her friend holding back a giggle, with a small smile twisting her lips upward. She arched a silver eyebrow.

"Sorry, sorry. It's just... they remind me of you. So protective of their Princess." Yogensha sobered again and Madoi shook her head. She examined her charge from the corner of her eye; she still wasn't feeling any better.

"What else is bothering you?"

Yogensha turned her head to face Madoi. "So blunt," she chided, then sighed heavily. "It's just... I was remembering the time that we went with Ekisha, Juuki, and Kanshou to the lake at the Ruins of the Temple of Aenndi..." she trailed off.

Madoi smiled sadly, remembering the day spent with comrades that were... No! She knew Yogensha thought they were dead, but Madoi refused to give up hope. If she gave up hope, then what good was it to even be here? Her eyes skipped back up to Yogensha's face and sucked in a quick, startled breath.

Yogensha was staring off into nothing, her expression glazed. "Aenndi..." she repeated and a slight purple glow emenated from her skin. Then her eyes rolled up into her head and Madoi only stared a moment as her charge slumped forward, like a marionette cut from its strings and fell into the water. A second later she was diving back in to pull Yogensha from the water.
